Hillary Thomas is a Los Angeles based film composer, with work spanning a variety of film and music genres. Her experience and reputation for productive collaboration has made her a favorite composer among many film makers.
Hillary's enthusiasm for music dates back to age three, when she began studying the violin in her home town of Manassas, Virginia. Her passion for music only intensified as she grew older and also began studying the piano and viola. As a teenager her family moved to Columbus, Ohio. It was there that one of her private instructors suggested that she direct some of her creativity to pen and paper and try composing. That was when she quickly found her calling. Over the next few years she studied composition at the prestigious, Interlochen Academy of the Arts and The Ohio State University. It was not long before Hillary's distinctive works became recognized, as she won awards across the state for her original compositions.
After graduating from high school, Hillary moved to Los Angeles where she attended the California Institute of the Arts. After graduation, Hillary was accepted to The University of Southern California Scoring for Motion Picture and Television Program.
Throughout her experience, Hillary has received considerable recognition for her works. She wrote the score for "On Great White Wings" directed by Josh Colover and narrated by Martin Sheen and the score to "Channel ISlands: Treasure in the Sea" narrated by Kevin Costner.
Hillary has scored a variety of films that have spanned across many musical and dramatic styles. Her memorable melodies have won the hearts of film makers and audiences alike.
